End of the Year Blues

I can't believe the end of the school year is almost here! We have one more full week after this one and then we go Tuesday and Wednesday after Memorial Day. I told my class that I would still be taking grades through next Friday and that they need to stay focused...we shall see if that happens! HA! I think they have already checked out for the year.

The wedding is almost here! This coming weekend is another shower for the two of them. I'm heading to my parents after school on Friday to help out with more details. Brian was here last weekend and was a HUGE help with outside work. He was able to "bond" with my dad which meant a lot to them both (well at least I hope it did!). I'll get to see him the Thursday before the wedding! WOOHOO!!!!

Not this coming weekend, but over Memorial Day weekend, I'll be heading to Des Moines for Tiffany's birthday party and bachelorette party! I can't believe it is this time already. It seems like just yesterday they called and told me they were engaged! I can't wait to have Tiffany as my sister! I also can't wait for nieces and nephews, but I'm not going to bring that up like my mom does every time they are around! I do get to spend quite a bit of time with Brian's four nephews when I visit, which is absolutely wonderful....and since they read my blog, I want to give a shout out to Jackie and Greg! I really hope we can all hang out! :)

Jackie- I don't know if FB allowed my message to you, but I got the template off of a website...it should be posted at the bottom of the page...I wish I could take the credit, but I haven't spent enough time to create it on my own!

Oh I guess I should talk about the title of my post... I always get sad at the end of each school year. I can't believe how fast this year snuck up on me. It honestly seems like we just started the year. I have had the best group of students and they have made me laugh so many times. This group has been one of the sweetest I've had so far. I don't know if I'm going to let them move on to the fourth grade. :) I do have something to look forward to though, next year's group is a small one! I'm going to have just twelve students (six boys and six girls). I really want to make next year an extra special year...lots of changes heading my way! :)

I better get back to my apartment and prepare for American Idol. I'm rooting for Lee and Crystal! I tell Brian that Lee is my American Idol boyfriend. I don't know how that really makes him feel. Greg, why don't you email him and check on that for me! :)

New Hair Cut and Color

I had my hair cut and colored this past week. I don't know if I got any "great" pictures of the new do, but you get the idea! :) I have the best hair stylist in the world! (She's also my BFF)

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day Mom! I love you so much! The picture above is of me, Tiffany, and Mom! :)
I came home Friday night to spend the weekend with my parents. I took a slight detour yesterday by going to a wedding with a good friend of mine, Sarah. I am back at my parents today to make lunch for Mom with Jon and Tiffany.
Reasons I love my Mom:
1. She gave me birth.
2. She has provided so many wonderful opportunities throughout my 27 and a half (haha) years.
3. She worked hard for 35 years as a dedicated educator and was the main reason I went into teaching.
4. She loves me.
5. She helps me out with sticky situations.
6. She calls me (or answers the phone when I call her) daily.
7. She works hard at everything she does.
8. She is an excellent cook!
9. She remains active in so many organizations and still finds time to spend with family.
10. She takes me on wonderful trips (Wisconsin, Indiana, Las Vegas...)
There are so many other reasons why I love my Momma! Happy Mother's Day! :)
