Weekend Recap

What a wonderful weekend...until yesterday morning...

I spent the weekend down in St. Peters/St. Charles in our new house. I love it so much! It is a lot bigger than I remembered from when we went to check it out, but that is probably because it isn't filled with furniture yet. :) We went over to the condo for pizza with Pam, Jacob, Glenn, and Joyce.

On Saturday Brian and I got up and headed out to check out some furniture. We ended up finding some nice pieces and even got some end tables, a coffee table, etc. YAY! We went back to the condo and spent some time with Jackie, Greg, Tyson, Logan, Pam, Jacob, Joyce and Glenn. The boys went swimming while the girls did some planning. Brian and I went down to the pool to supervise! We ended up taking care of Tyson and Jacob who didn't like the pool! :)

I woke up Sunday morning with the stomach flu. NOT FUN AT ALL! I ended up staying up most of the night (Saturday) and then slept for like 6 hours yesterday. I finally started feeling better in the afternoon, just in time to drive three hours back to Macomb. While I was resting Brian took down the wall paper in the office. He is such a great worker! He kept asking me if I felt better, darn the luck that I didn't! HA! No worries, I'll help paint next weekend.

Today started Catholic Schools Week! Today was Hat Day! I even participated. We are suposed to get massive amounts of snow tonight through Wednesday (they are saying anywhere up to like 19 inches!!!!!) so it looks like a couple of snow days are in the works. The kids weren't happy about that since this week is such a fun week. Honestly, I want to be there too! I won't complain if there is a snow day though!

I want to give a Birthday Shout-Out to one of my bestest friends ever...Beth!!! I hope you are having a wonderful birthday!!!

It is Official...

We have a house! I haven't been down to see it "ours" yet, but believe you me it is ours! :) Brian was busy all weekend moving things in (a shout out everyone who helped him- Greg, Glenn, Joyce, CJ, and Nick- THANKS A BUNCH!) and fixing the minor problems.

I spent the weekend still recovering from this awful flu/bronchitis/whatever it is I have illness. I missed work Thursday and Friday because it was so bad and here it is Monday and I'm still not 100%! Yuck. I'm stranded at my parents right now because the roads are super icy, do I dare pray for a snow day? HA! If that happens I don't know if I'll be able to go back to teaching...I won't know where to start!

I got to see my Grandpa Keimig today. He isn't doing very well. He was in the hospital for 10 days because his body isn't making new blood. He gained 4 pounds in just two days (water retention) and I guess his body is just saying enough is enough! All SIX of his children were back this weekend to see him...which NEVER happens. It was good to see all of my aunts and uncles, even ones who I haven't seen in years. Hopefully Grandpa can get comfortable and settle back in at the Nursing Home. I did get in to see him yesterday afternoon (I promise I didn't get near him with this junk I have)...

I'm off to experiement with my new camera! I LOVE IT! :) Hopefully I'll get some pictures uploaded soon!

Wedding Wednesday

Isn't that fun? I've seen this on other blogs and thought I'd give it a try!

I love being engaged. I love knowing that I am going to spend the rest of my life with Brian. I love the idea of getting married. I don't necessarily "love" wedding planning. HA! Don't get me wrong, it is a fun experience. I am just a little overwhelmed with all of the choices! I want it to be perfect and I want to make all the right choices.

I am happy with our progress:
-Church booked
-Reception site booked
-Dress bought
-DJ booked (I think!)
-Hotels blocked
-Bridesmaids asked
-Groomsmen asked
-Photographer booked (SHE IS AWESOME!)

Things I need to do:
-Find a florist
-Book transportation
-Get a passport
-Choose bridesmaids dresses
-Make invitations
-Favors
-Gifts for our attendants
-Choose centerpieces
-Register for gifts
-Figure out our menu- appetizers or something else????
-Reserve a room for the wedding night
-Make goodie bags for out of town guests

I am sure there are other things I have done and even more things that still need to be done. I am getting excited though because things are starting to come together! I was very proud of myself for calling the local hotels. I am going to be sending out an email to friends and family who need a heads up for hotels. I have four different blocks because it is a super busy weekend in Macomb! It is the town's "Heritage Days" and most of the hotels book fast. No worries because I hopefully have enough rooms reserved (we shall see!).

Okay I am getting excited again!!!!! :)

**UPDATED: I had Diet Pepsi after 7 and I don't think I'll be getting to bed anytime soon! Why did I do this to myself yet AGAIN!?!**

Rocking out to Multiplication Songs

Well...I am so into blogging right now. I blog when I should be 1. planning the wedding and 2. going to bed. I have my priorities in order, right!? I thought you'd enjoy a fun picture from Jill and Greg's wedding. I haven't taken many pictures lately. I'm "patiently" waiting for my Christmas gift and am boycotting my "old" camera. :)

I broke out the awesome Multiplication CD today. It has some pretty groovy songs. I was singing and dancing to a few today and was caught by my friend Jennifer. Oops! I am really wanting to motivate my 13 cuties to learn their facts! I am going to do whatever it takes to have them master the facts by May, even if I have to sing and dance to them with other adults in the room.
I am heading to Colchester with Aunt Donna tomorrow afternoon. We are going to pick out the card stock so we can start making the invitations. She is awesome and offered to make them for me. I can't wait to help her and spend some quality time with one of my favorite people! (I don't think she reads my blog, probably because I haven't really given out the address!)
Well...it is 10, almost two hours past my normal bedtime! HA!

Resolutions

Well....I've decided to announce my 2011 Resolutions. Here we are, the third day of the new year, and I am making it official by blogging about it!

First of all, I hope everyone is off to a great start to this new year. Like I mentioned in an earlier post (or at least I think I did), I can't believe the new year has already arrived. It seems like it was just yesterday that I was at my parents recovering from my untimely hospital stay. Nope. That was actually A YEAR AGO! Wow! Okay enough with the stalling.

This year I resolve to:
- stay with the new WW program even though I want to quit like yesterday. '
- BLOG MORE!!!!!
- stop biting my nails. I read this blog of a complete stranger (yeah I know) who resolved to stop biting her nails last year and did it. Might as well give it a shot, especially since I'm getting married and need pretty nails. HAHAHAHA!
- let Brian decorate, er, paint the new house. Okay I tried! Let me rephrase that resolution...I resolve to compromise with Brian when it comes to the new house! :) Whew. That's better, right?
- walk more. I used to be REALLY good at walking, then I stopped. So maybe I'll start up again...how about Jillian Michael's 30 day shred? I'll start tomorrow! For tonight, I'll continue using my Shake Weight! :)
- enjoy the remaining days as a Third Grade Teacher in Macomb! I know it will be a memorable experience!
- start applying for jobs in the St. Charles area.
- love life.
-spend more time with my family and with Brian's too!

This is a good list for now.

What are you resolving to do in 2011???

174 Days

Hello to my faithful readers....

Welcome 2011! I am happy to report that I made it all the way to the New Year with no major hitches. I celebrated the "new year" at 11:00 with all of the kiddos at the party Brian and I attended. We watched the ball drop and GUESS WHAT!!!!! I fell asleep right before midnight! HA! Oh well, at least I wasn't sick! :)

2011 is going to be an awesome year!
*In 174 days I will become a wife!
*In 12 days we will become house owners. I can't wait to decorate! :)

There are many other reasons to look foward to, but I'll save that for another post!

Happy New Year!!!
