Updates

Wow! I guess I haven't updated in a while! My Internet has been down at the apartment, guess my new landlord (who has his business downstairs and is expanding it) has had some guys over putting in wireless downstairs and it has totally messed up my connection. YIKES! I do not like going without access in the evenings...haha!!!

I finished my last full week of school today. We have three full days next week and then we go for three hours on Thursday. I can't even begin to imagine what next week will be like. I can already feel the tears coming.

I had quite the day today. One of my little sweethearts slipped and fell from the monkeybars and broke not only her wrist but her arm as well. The bad part, she wasn't suposed to be playing on them because she wasn't technically out at recess. She was out there with a mom to get pictures for a special project and was told to come in. I had no idea where she was until some of my kids told me she fell off the monkeybars and was hurt bad. So I walked down to the office to see just how "hurt" she was and the secretary shook her had and mouthed "broken bones"...BONES??? What in the world? I walked back to the room and filled in the students and told them we should say some prayers for Kaylee and we did. They are such sweet children. I am going to miss them!

Brian came up last weekend and we loaded up his Dad's truck with a bunch of school things. It was raining pretty hard the entire time and the whole trip back to STL. My BFF Jeanie and I went down in my car because we were headed to a bachelorette party on the Landing that night. I can't believe how much it rained. YUCK! Luckily I have the best fiancee and he unloaded the entire truck by himself.

I headed to my parents after work tonight and am spending the night. I have to get to bed somewhat early because my bachelorette party is tomorrow in Peoria. I can't wait! I am sure it will be lots of fun, but knowing me and how tired I can get, I better go to bed asap! HAHA!!!

I will try to upload some pictures from the past couple of weeks. I've taken quite a few, just haven't had the time to get online.

Kids are funny

So I have to share (first of all sorry for the lack of pictures...) a funny story from today. It was the HOTTEST day ever and I was miserable. I should have known it was going to be a hot one when I was sweating as I was getting ready for the day. YIKES! Well our students are lucky because they don't have to wear uniforms. They have a dress code, but it isn't bad for a Catholic school... and they are now able to wear shorts to school as long as they are appropriate.

One of my boys had on some "short"shorts...I burst out laughing because he is just as cute as can be. The best part was that he kept hiking them up as the day progressed. I shared with my principal and she said "I never thought I'd have to put in about the length of the shorts for the boys in our school". Towards the end of the day, the same boy took off his shirt (no worries he had a tank top on underneath) and started twirling it around. I made him put his clothes back on. He makes me laugh!

Organized Chaos

I hate clutter. I hate lots of boxes everywhere. I try to stay as organized as I can...but these past few MONTHS I have lived with clutter and boxes everywhere. I know this comes with the territory. I'm leaving my job so there are boxes and piles everywhere. I am moving out of my apartment. Again, lots of boxes and piles everywhere. I can sense an overwhelming feeling of anxiety because I feel like one of those "hoarders". As I was looking around my classroom today I burst into tears...LITERALLY! My sweet third graders looked up from their seatwork, saw that I was crying, and let me be. I stepped out of the classroom and composed myself and then moved on with English.

I have to say this group of 13 have been the sweetest group I've had. They are so sincere, so kind, and so loving. I know they are excited for me. They give me hugs when I'm sad, but even better...they bring my chocolate! :)

I am getting excited for the BIG DAY. I don't want everything to think I am not excited to become a wife because I truly can't wait to marry Brian! Just hard to let go.

47 Days!

48 Days/12 Days

Whew! There are only 48 days until the wedding. I can't believe it! We have been busy with all the small details, including mailing out our invites. WOOHOO! We've even started getting responses back! :) I know the next 48 days will fly by!

There are only 12 school days left! Yikes. Let the tears begin. :( I have been up and down with my emotions. I am happy to start my new journey with Brian, but extremely sad to leave St. Paul/Macomb/Illinois/Family/Friends. You know the list. How do I begin to say "good"bye to all the people in my life? Why do they call it "good" bye anyways?

I am going to soak up the next 12 school days. Great I have to go get a kleenex.
