TGIF! I am so glad the weekend is finally here. I've been running errands tonight and am waiting to start dinner. :) So my kiddos were so funny at school today. We finished reading Stone Fox the other day and so I decided to show the movie version today. They were so mad that the dog's name was different in the movie. They were throwing their hands up in the air and saying things like "what in the world?" and "this is unbelievable"...hahaha I love it! They then said "the book is WAY better than this movie" Whew! I have done my job! :)
Okay back to the weekend plans... I am excited that Brian is on his way. He should be here about 8. Even more exciting is that Sarah and Jason are coming over for dinner too! I am going to try to get some pictures and post them on here. Sarah asked me to be in her wedding the other night. :) So hopefully we can talk wedding details and the guys can talk about something else. Our second couples date! I hope I make enough spaghetti.
Saturday's plans are to relax a bit, maybe work at school (haha I bet Brian will love that), go to Mass, and then Trivia Night! I hope I know at least one or two of the questions. I'll pretend if I don't!
So... I know I shouldn't love soap operas as much as I do...funny story from school. Our boss met with a couple who is looking at our preschool program and the wife's father was a soap star back in the day! I automatically felt like I knew him (even though he was on a soap that I never watch!) I hope they come!
Alrighty, enough for now!
A somewhat random recap of my daily life. I'm an in between jobs school teacher, newlywed, and devoted Catholic.

Biggest Loser Tuesday
It's Tuesday!!! I'm watching my favorite reality show- Biggest Loser. I love the show and totally feel like it is my motivation for the week. I have been doing great this week (think I might either stay the same or might even lose- I hope). I need to get serious about working out though...PUT THE CHEETOS DOWN (haha I haven't had cheetos in months). BOO RED HAS IMMUNITY! That makes me really mad! I don't like them at all! They are totally in to win the game and not lose weight...GROSS! They are awful! BOO!
So my BF is coming on Friday. I miss him and can't wait to see him again. I know it has only been two weeks, but I can't help but miss him. I'm making dinner for him and then we are going to see Legion. I think I'll make spaghetti. He loved it the last time I made it, and it is simple and not to hard to make. He gets to meet more St. Paul people on Saturday night. We are going to a trivia night at the school. Woohoo!!!
More to come soon!

Wedding Weekend Recap

What a weekend...
First of all, I'm at home today because of a "Snow/Ice" Day. I got up at my regular time (thanks to my wonderful BF who calls me every morning! Love it!) and took my shower. I didn't get the phone call until 6:45 but I'm not complaining. I went back to sleep and have been enjoying catching up on all my favorite shows....especially The Bachelor and Biggest Loser!
Okay so back to the weekend. I went down to St. Charles to spend the weekend with Brian and his family. We started the weekend out by going to dinner at The Pasta House. It was delicious! :) Our next stop was Kohls (one of my favorite stores by the way) to find a "welcome to the world" present for his newest nephew Tyson. Brian was thrilled with the gift, me not so much. It was a sleeper combo set of aliens and space ships. I told him if Jackie and Greg said anything it was his fault. Darn the luck, they thought it was cute...so great job honey! :) HAHA! I have a lot to learn about baby gifts. I never know what to get infants, toddlers, etc...
Saturday morning we got up and headed to Jackie and Greg's. Let me just say that Tyson is a doll! I am so lucky to have now gotten to hold two newborns within a months time. I let Brian hold him first (guess I am a wonderful GF). We bought Logan a book and tractor to open up and he came up to me so I would read to him. It was awesome. We spent about an hour or so at the Higgins and then headed to Brian's parents. We got there a little before noon and finished getting ready for the wedding. Pam, Jason, Jared, and Jacob arrived and we headed to Columbia for the wedding. Kim was a beautiful bride. :) We went to a sports bar after the wedding and enjoyed spending time with Brian's family.
We danced the night away at the reception. Pam, Debbie, Sarah (my bday twin), and I all had a great time on the dance floor. :) I wish we could have spent more time together, but there's always the next wedding right?
We drove back to Brian's parents house that night. Jared and I slept (I think Brian was jealous) and Joyce got a picture of us. Oh boy! We got up on Sunday and went to church. Jared kept asking when everyone was going to drink the blood. He's starting to understand the concepts of church, which is great! We finally got the chance to have Christmas, except it was sad not having Jackie, Greg, Logan, and Tyson there. Jared was a great helper, opening up everyone's presents. HA!
I didn't have to drive back Sunday night, because I had Monday off for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. It was nice having an extra night. What a weekend!
I need to give myself a kick in the rear for not working out like I said I was going to. I'll try again tonight! I am doing much better with the eating part though. I have a ways to go, as I gained a little more than I wanted....but still can't complain because I've almost lost a a total of 80 pounds and have been able to keep it off for two years now, well you get the idea....haven't gained more in the past two years... I rock!

My legs and thighs are killing me
Okay so I am starting something new... working out....hahahaha
I do a great job during the warmer weather, out walking all the time, but have really been struggling this fall/winter. After talking with a good friend tonight, I was motivated to start....RIGHT THEN!
So picture me doing my twenty-five minutes of the Biggest Loser low intensity workout. MY THIGHS HURT. :) Day 1 complete. Now if I can just stick with it. I want to reach Lifetime by the end of January or February (at the latest) but really need motivation.
It was a great weekend. I had my teacher party on Friday- was one of the few who didn't partake in an adult beverage (because of my meds). I went to my parents on Saturday and had a great day hanging out with Mom and Dad, and then Jon and Tiff. We ended up having her parents over for dinner that night too! Lots of fun. I spent most of the afternoon in Burlington today for the Bridal Show. I went over with my good friend Sarah and then met up with the fam to go through things again. Jon and Tiff are getting married in less than 5 months! HIP HIP! :) :)
A shout out to Jackie and Greg (even though they don't know about my blog). Jackie is going in to have Tyson tomorrow. I can't wait to meet him on Saturday. Also a shout out to Pam, Jason, Jared, and Jacob. I'll get to hang out with them on Saturday too, along with Glenn and Joyce. Oh and of course Brian too! I'll be praying for him tomorrow as he goes to work. I hope things pick up soon! Otherwise he is moving to Macomb...which would be AWESOME! :)

2010 Goals
I read somewhere today (on one of the many blogs I read) that blogging is a lot like journaling. Well yay for me because I have been journaling for years...since my third grade student teacher, Mrs. Ensminger, introduced me to it all those years ago. I used to be very consistent in my daily entries, but lately I have slipped. I try to journal my thoughts, feelings, prayers, stories, etc...and of course I am going to continue to write things down, I don't think I would be the same if I didn't, but this year I am also going to start blogging more. Who knows...maybe I'll become a famous blogger...a girl can dream right?
So I thought I would blog about my goals for 2010.
1. Spend more time in prayer. I am a devout Catholic. I love my faith. I tend to find myself slipping in daily prayer time though. So this year I am going to devote more time to that.
2. Drink less Diet Pepsi. SHOCKER I KNOW! I've realized that part of my kidney problem could be linked to the caffiene intake I have recently encountered. I LOVE DIET PEPSI. LOVE IT. So I am really going *TRY* to cut back. Now having said this, I just bought two two-liters and six little guys for my lunches....this has to last me a long time and then I am going to try not to buy it anymore. I did much better since my hospital stay...I've only consumed three-four in the last seven days, instead of four + a day. Yes I told you I drink it like it is coming through an IV.
3. Love my boyfriend more. Now I am not trying to be all gushy here. We both have agreed that we love each other equally and that is fine, I guess. (JK trying to be a funny person). But what I do want to work on is getting to know him even more and falling even more in love with him.
4. Of course blog more. Enough said.
5. Make Lifetime. This is a goal I have been working on for two years. I started my weight loss journey thinking that I would never get close. I have been struggling with these last five or so pounds for a few months now. I will make Weight Watchers Lifetime in the next few months.
6. Travel to visit my Godchildren. Here's a shout out to four of the greatest people I know (including their families of course.) Jack is in third grade, Emma is in kindergarten, Danny just turned 1, and Newell is about to turn 1. I am so blessed.
7. Take more pictures. I think I should start scrapbooking...but not sure if I can do it. Hmm..
Okay I am going to stop for now. I think seven goals is a good way to start the year. Coming soon- a reflection on the previous year!

Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!
So it is official. I am home for a snow day! Hip Hip Hooray! :)
I had a wonderful Christmas. Brian and I were able to spend lots of quality time together and with both of our families. Santa was kind to us both, and to our families as well. Thanks Santa!
New Years was a different story. Now that it is the 7th day of the year, things are on the up and up, but the end of 2009 and the beginning of 2010 were rough. I had terrible side pain when I got down to Brian's on Wednesday evening. I thought it would just disappear so I sort of ignored it. We worked out (pain was worse), had some popcorn, and watched Fireproof (very good movie!). I fell asleep and when I woke up the next morning I was in so much pain that I was crying. Brian called his Mom, who happens to be a nurse, and she said it could be my appendix and we should head to the ER. I called my Mom, who is a retired teacher but my personal nurse, and she agreed. So we took off and I cried. After running some tests, my appendix was normal (thanks appendix! you rock!) but the pain was worse. They gave me pain meds which made me sick. The doctor came in to see me and I was crying so hard. I am telling you the pain was awful! Ends up I had a kidney infection. I stayed in the hospital for two and a half days...
Brian saw me at my best- no shower, hair a mess, in a hospital gown. LOVELY! He was a trooper and sat by my side. He held me when I cried. He listened to my IPOD and tried to make me smile. I love him.
The best part from the hospital stay (besides the fact that I am okay now) is the nurses aide, EJ. She called me a princess. For a diva like me to hear that, really helped my ego!
2010 started sort of crappy, but it is going to be a great year! I can tell!!!!
